Yantra is a Sanskrit word for an instrument: a made thing that gives an idea its form. Our first is a watch you can see into, built slowly and in small numbers.

Chapter I: The name
A word for an instrument.
In Sanskrit, a yantra is an instrument: a device, a machine, a diagram that holds an idea in place. It felt like the right name for a company that makes watches.
Our mark is the syllable त्र, drawn in gold. It is the heart of the word, and it is set into every caseback.
Chapter II: Design
Drawn to the tenth of a millimetre.
Every Edition 01 begins as a technical drawing: the case, the holder that seats the movement, the jig that aligns the open dial.
Practical details are drawn in from the start. The battery sits behind an easy-access caseback, so a watch meant to last can be cared for simply.
Chapter III: Making
Printed, then finished by hand.
The sculpted blue case is printed one fine layer at a time. That leaves a texture no mould could give it, and one you can feel under your thumb.
Then every case is cleaned, finished and assembled by hand, and its caseback is numbered, one of fifty.
Chapter IV: What follows
Edition 01 is the first chapter.
We began with a single watch so that we could get it right. Fifty pieces, each one numbered.
Stainless steel, titanium, automatics and chronographs will follow shortly, each made with the same patience.

Nothing hidden
An open dial and a movement in plain view. What makes the watch work is part of how it looks.

Fifty pieces of Edition 01, each numbered. We would rather make fewer and make them well.

By hand
Every case is finished and every watch assembled at the bench, one at a time.

Room to grow
Steel, titanium, automatics and chronographs are next, each earning its place in turn.

When they are gone, the next chapter begins. Until then, Edition 01 is the only Yantra there is.
